I was already a fan before I saw you writing about Georgie Mac =) Now I'm loyal.
Question for you: to my utter surprise, I am now officially a "girl mom" of two very sparkly princess-obsessed darlings. What should I feed their imaginations? Cinderella is the current obsession, but I'm not taking them anywhere near Ariel.
Thanks for the follow! The thing is, when it comes to princess stories, most originals are actually very gory and not something you want to read to little girls. I like the Light Princess because it’s a good middle ground, but it’s not the stuff of sparkly dreams most little girls like. Definitely introduce this story and Georgie Mac’s other fairytales as they grow older, but to feed their princess minds now I would actually look into the older Barbie stories/movies.
My sister and I grew up on those and we still LOVE them. My sister is actually getting married in two weeks and we have a plan to watch our favorites (Barbie: Princess and the Pauper, Barbie and the Diamond Castle, and Barbie Twelve Dancing Princesses) the night before her wedding to reminisce our favorite fairytales before she gets to live hers. I believe Mattel just put them on YouTube for free! If not, you can find them on Amazon Prime.
Also, the classic Disney princess stories like what you’re doing are great too! I’ll be on the lookout for more truly classic princess tales like The Light Princess too, though!
